The Maritime Group (international) Limited of London, part of the well respected International Maritime Consultancy, The Maritime Group (also known as TMG) headquartered in Seattle, WA, has won a contract in Oman to work in a consortium with Morison Muscat (Business Advisers) and Beckett Rankine (Port Engineers) of London, to carry out a High Speed ferry feasibility study for a proposed Muscat-Sur-Masirah Island route and the suitability of infrastructure for the ports associated with the proposal.

The consortium will conduct the study on behalf of the National Ferries Company (NFC) of Oman. NFC is extending its ferry fleet with the introduction of three new AMD design wave piercing craft, currently under construction at shipbuilder Rodrigues in Italy.

Malcolm W Parrott who heads up the TMG London office is well known in the Fast Ferry world, as is Timothy H Beckett of Beckett Rankine, who has designed many HSC berths throughout the UK and other countries.
