This was followed by over 20 years ashore in senior executive and management roles, where he has worked, and is still working, within Ferry and High Speed Craft Operations, Container Operations, Cruise operations, Ship Management, General & Commercial Management and Ship Broking. Past member of the London Baltic Exchange. Past Master (2009-2010) of the London livery company, the Honourable Company of Master Mariners.

A Marine Engineer with considerable experience of seagoing on various types of vessel including tankers, dry cargo and RO-RO logistic ships. Career developed with a period ashore in fleet technical management the last period of five years as the Senior Technical Superintendent responsible for technical and logistic management of a fleet of twenty-two ships. He moved over to Consultancy working both independently and employed, latterly as engineering design support consultant for major defence related company.

With particular experience in the survey of large passenger vessels on behalf of flag. A lead auditor for ISM and ISPS.
